AAC, or Augmentative and Alternative Communication, are substitutes for spoken speech and language. This can range from low-tech methods, such as picture exchange systems, to high-tech methods, such as an iPad or other electronic devices. There are also mid-tech methods, such as a switch that allows individuals to respond to yes/no questions.
